Business Snack Tip " Branding"

Tip from Akutagawa International's
Director of Business Services
Lee Myung

Branding is all about the image of your company or business.  It's not just about logos, emblems and style.  It also includes the image of quality, reliability, or lack of these.  What matters is the image of the brand in the eyes and mind of the consumer.  The brand distinguishes your products from those of your competitors, and can make an advertising campaign more effective.

Business Snack Tip " Leave Your Comfort Zone"

"If it ain't broke don't fix it!" How often do we hear this phrase. For many companies it is easy to use or do what you already know works; however the world is changing constantly and your business (Brand) needs to change along with it.

Business Snack Tip  " Leave Comfort Zone"

It is ok to keep doing what you know works for you; however keep in mind that new ideas and technology can work for you and your business. Try adding something new to reach your target audience or adding something different to reach a new audience. New and fresh ideas keep your fans and consumers wanting more. Step out of your comfort zone for major results.

Business Snack Tip " How Is Your Company Website?"

Just about every business has a website on the internet. The internet alone has information for anyone. A companies website gives their consumer an idea of who they are as well as letting the customer know  how they can help them. Your company website can have great graphics and flashy designs but if the content doesn't grab your customer it is as good as dead.

Website Tip

Remember substance over style! Think of your company site from your customers point of view. Offer information that will assist them in making their choice and also offer new and fresh updates that will benefit them. As a company you must consider what you would need if you yourself was searching for the same information.

How Advertising Helps Businesses

The goal of most advertising is to apprise consumers or businesses about a companies product or sevice.  Wtihout advertising, consumers and businesses would need to accidently discover a company's product or service which is not particular in the business world.  Companies use advertising to build awareness of their brands.  This helps the business owner make his customers think of his business when they need the types of products he sells.  Therefore, most business owners and companies advertise consistently to build brand awareness.  Advertising draws attention to your brand, then communicates key benefits to users, according to marketing expert Dave Dolak.  Consequently, consumers tend to remember certain benefits of brands through advertising, including which ones offer better taste or lower prices.

Companies use advertising to increase sales.  Most business owners and corporations expect a certain return on investment.  Ex:  A company spends $300 per month on a "Yellow Page" ad, they may expect $1, 200 per month from customers who see those ads.  Hence the companies return on investment is 400%.

What is advertising?

Advertising is a form of communication for marketing.  It is used to encourage, persuade, draw attention towards or manipulate an audience, ex: (viewers, readers, or listeners even a specific group) to continue or take some new action.

Most commonly, the desired result is to drive consumer behavior with respect to a commercial offering.  Although politicaly and ideological advertising is also common.  In Latin "ad vertere" means ( to turn the mind toward).

The purpose of advertising may also be to reassure employees or shareholders that a company is viable or successful.  Advertising messages are usually paid for by sponsors and viewed over various ways via traditional media including mass media, such as newspapers, magazines, television commercials, radio advertising, out door advertising or even direct mail.  Even by new media such as blogs, websites, or text messages.

Advertisers often seek to generate increased consumption of their products or services through "branding" which involves associating a product name or image with certain qualities in the minds of the consumers.  Non-commercial advertisers who spend money to advertise items other than a consumer product or service.  These include political parties, interest groups, religious organizations and governmental agencies.  Non-profit organizations may rely on free modes of persuation such as public service announcement (PSA).
