New Business Basics

How Advertising Helps Businesses

The goal of most advertising is to apprise consumers or businesses about a companies product or sevice.  Wtihout advertising, consumers and businesses would need to accidently discover a company's product or service which is not particular in the business world.  Companies use advertising to build awareness of their brands.  This helps the business owner make his customers think of his business when they need the types of products he sells.  Therefore, most business owners and companies advertise consistently to build brand awareness.  Advertising draws attention to your brand, then communicates key benefits to users, according to marketing expert Dave Dolak.  Consequently, consumers tend to remember certain benefits of brands through advertising, including which ones offer better taste or lower prices.

Companies use advertising to increase sales.  Most business owners and corporations expect a certain return on investment.  Ex:  A company spends $300 per month on a "Yellow Page" ad, they may expect $1, 200 per month from customers who see those ads.  Hence the companies return on investment is 400%.

In all advertising helps to promote, move and bring forth products and services they provide to all businesses and consumers.
